Any visit to Topeka, Kansas must include a day long visit to the Kansas Museum of History. The Kansas Museum of History is an award winning Museum that relates an interesting story about the people of Kansas. You will see many interest exhibits including an exhibit of a historical plane and another of a historical train. The Kansas Museum of History is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. They will be closed on holidays.
You can discover the amazing stories of forts, trails, natives, settlements, towns, trains, planes, World War I and the Civil War. Some of the impressive items that you will surely want to see include Carry Nations Hammer, Custer’s boots, Henry Brown’s rifle, Whites printing press, Abbott’s howitzer, the 1880 Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe locomotive, and the 1914 Longren biplane.
